Details:  Chaska Curling Center teachers will give participants a tour of the new curling center and go over the rules, technique and scoring of curling.  Then we’ll head onto to ice for curling.  Girls should dress in comfortable clothing, bring a jacket and most importantly bring a CLEAN PAIR OF SHOES (not the once we wear in from the street.  Take some shoes, brush them off well, bring them with out.)  Please plan to arrive at 11:45 a.m. as instruction will start promptly at noon.  Curling center details

Female Assault Prevention and Defense Training

Details: This has been a well-received training course, taught by former Navy SEAL, Al Horner and his co-instructor, Karla Rapp.  Moms are strongly encouraged to attend with their daughters.  The training will focus on the who, what, when, where and how of assaults, and how to recognize and stop the sequence of events that take place before an assault.  Cheri and Rachel are planning to attend already.  Additional details at http://www.mountcalvary.org/NOT-ME-TRAINING

Details: Join us for a night hike and celebrate Earth Day at night by exploring the secret life of trees and the animals that call them home.  We’ll have a guided full moon hike with one of the naturalists at Lowry.  
 
Microsoft DigiGirlz Day
Who: High School Aged Girls
What: Microsoft DigiGirlz (STEM event)
When: Thu Apr 28 8:30 am – 2:00 pm
Where: Microsoft Technology Center, 3601 W 76th Street, Edina, MN 55435
Why: Career exploration, general technology exploration.  The day will include business and technology workshops, personal brand management, and structured networking.

Details: During the event, students interact with Microsoft employees and managers to gain exposure to careers in business and technology and to get an inside look at what it's like to work at Microsoft. This exciting event provides girls with career planning assistance, information about technology and business roles, thought-provoking exercises, and interesting Microsoft product demonstrations.
